This is a batch premix that is packed full of flavours associated with festive period, which makes it ideal for your holiday party. Ingredients for the Citrus Syrup (produces 750ml)
300ml newly squeezed clementine juice
200ml recently pressed lemon juice
500g fine sugar
For the Cocktail (produces 850ml, enough for 10)
400ml decent vodka
100ml dry gin
150ml peach schnapps
200ml clementine cordial (as made above)
Fresh cranberries, to garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch
Method
To prepare the Citrus Syrup: Place all the items in a saucepan, bring to a simmer, mixing until the sugar dissolves. After that, take off the burner and let it to cool down entirely. Transfer to a sterilised bottle, close it keeping it in the refrigerator, it can be stored for about a month.
Preparing the Batch Mix: Combine the specified liquid ingredients in a big jug, allow it to infuse for an hour, then filter it , ideally through a fine cloth, so it's completely strained.
When ready to serve: Pour 85ml of the batch mix into your mixing glass filled with ice, and stir carefully for a minute to chill. Strain into an frosted cocktail glass or a similar vessel, decorate with the cranberries adding the final touch by giving it a light spray of the essential oil over the drink.
