I'll stamp all over 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming bout.
Former twice world title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making massive earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.
"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Size Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the customary face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
